These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes.
Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.

Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, Palletways, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
If Palletways are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

A small, versatile hardwood briquette. Easy to light, high heat output, good flame.
Dimension: 300mm long x 72mm dia.
Pack: 4 briquettes = 5kg
UK Hardwood Briquettes are a cylindrical briquette made from mixed hardwoods. They’re made in England using sawdust produced from the manufacture of hardwood mouldings for furniture. Each 5kg pack contains four briquettes that easily break into smaller sections if required.
They are easy to light and quick to reach a high operating temperature, which enables your stove to work at maximum efficiency. They burn with a lively flame and great heat and are a perfect starter briquette or a stand-alone briquette in smaller stoves.
A small, versatile hardwood briquette made in the UK. Easy to light with a high heat output; an ideal fuel for small stoves or for a quick flame and heat when using a dense long-burn briquette such as Beech Nestro.
They are ideal for stoves up to 5kw or for a quick starter flame and instant heat when using a large dense long-burn briquette such as Beech Nestro. Break them up into smaller pieces and place them around one firelighter for a quick and easy way to light the fire, or use as a main fuel in smaller stoves.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this. As a guide, please check the measurements:
Length of vehicle: 11 metres; Height of vehicle 4 metres. 18T & 7.5T vehicles are the same width.
The driver may not be able to access your road if there are:
• low overhead lines or low hanging branches
• low bridges or bridges with weight limits
• narrow access roads that prevent the vehicle manoeuvering/turning
Restricted Access
If you think that an 18 tonne lorry will not be able to access your road, we can ask Palletways to use a smaller vehicle. For this option, please ensure:
• your order weighs no more than 720kg
• you tick the ‘Access Restrictions’ button at checkout
• you put in your order notes that you require a 7.5T vehicle
7.5T is the smallest vehicle we can request. If you’re not sure, please phone us on 01387 731 210 and we can check your access for you.

Express Bundle Delivery – Next Working Day for most of Mainland UK*
A selection of our favourite products so you can enjoy a cosy fire using modern high performance wood briquettes.
Approx. 60kg in 3 x c.20kg packages delivered to your door
Please note the contents may be different from time to time depending on what we have in stock.
We have gathered together a selection of our favourite products so you can enjoy a cosy fire using modern high performance wood briquettes.
This Express Bundle consists of:
Dr Heat are carbon neutral firelighters made in England from miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax
Hotmax are also great broken up into small pieces and used to light the fire.
Woodlets Briquettes are ‘squircle’ (squared circle) shaped heat logs, made in Scotland using pure wood from sustainable UK timber.
Hardwood Pini-Kay are an excellent briquette that doesn’t expand and gives out great heat
Beech Nestro are from Germany and probably the world’s best wood fuel briquette. High compaction and fine particle size giving a long and hot burn time.
UK RUF are a dense softwood briquette produced in England.
Our Cosy Nights In pack is suitable for large or small stoves, but please crack the larger briquettes into half for use in a smaller stove. As to burn time, it is impossible for us to predict as some people burn ’24/7′ whilst others burn ‘as and when required’. Also, some people have large greedy stoves and some have small highly efficient stoves. With any fuel that is new to you you just need to try it and work out which briquette suits your stove, flue and lifestyle. Do not load lots of briquettes onto your stove at one time as they burn hotter and longer than dry logs. Start slowly so you get to know the characteristics of the different briquettes.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.
These easy-to-use briquettes give out steady heat with an attractive flame. They burn longer and hotter than logs, and much cleaner than coal. If you currently use traditional logs this is a great opportunity to compare heat output, cleanliness and length of burn.
Ideal for a weekend’s wood-burning or if you have run out of dry logs and need wood fuel quickly.
Briquettes come in a plastic pack. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Plastic is widely used for wrapping briquettes, in order to ensure that they stay dry, as a damp briquette will break up and be unsuitable for burning. The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we work constantly with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by encouraging the use of cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.
A selection of each of our briquettes, to let you try our full range easily and conveniently.
We will alter this mix depending on which products are available at the time of your order, but the below is a rough guide of what you may receive.
Waxlings x 1 bag of 40
Dr Heat Firelighters x 1 box of 30
Roastie Toasties x 1 @ 20kg = 20kg
Hotmax x 1 @ 20kg = 20kg
UK Hardwood Briquettes x 4 @ 5kg = 20kg
RUF Oak x 2 @10kg = 20kg
Willowwarm x 2 @ 8.5kg = 17kg
Woodlets Briquettes x 2 @10kg = 20kg
Woodlets Heat Logs x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
Pini-Kay x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
Beech Nestro x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
ENVI 8 x 2 @ 9kg = 18kg
Aspen Briquettes x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
Total weight: approx. 216kg
We also have a large ENVI XL briquette available. We don’t automatically include this in our mix due to the size of the briquette however if you have a large stove let us know and we can swap with other products.
Waxlings and Dr Heat are excellent natural, non-toxic firelighters
Roastie Toasties can be used as a kindling to light or revive any fire. Being quite small they also make an ideal main fuel for small stoves under 5kw.
Hotmax are perfect as a kindling replacement. They burn for twice the length of time for half the cost of kindling
RUF Oak burn for a few hours and are ideal when mixed with hotmax to start your fire
UK Hardwood Briquettes are an easy to break, small briquette, great for getting fast heat or reigniting a dying fire
Woodlets Briquettes and Heat Logs are a great general purpose briquette, ideal for all size stoves
Willowwarm are a small dense briquette, ideal for smaller stoves
Pini-Kay produce an excellent flame and lots of heat in smaller stoves. Good long ‘glow time’
Beech Nestro and ENVI 8 are our best quality densely made large briquettes, which burn hot over a long period.
Aspen Briquettes are an excellent, versatile briquette suitable for all stages of the fire
This wide and varied mix contains samples of the best modern high performance briquettes we supply.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.
We alter this mix depending on which products are available at the time of your order, but the list below is a typical guide of what you will receive.
Waxlings x 1 bag of 40
Dr Heat Firelighters x 1 box of 30
Hotmax x 1 @ 20kg = 20kg
Roastie Toasties x 1 @ 20kg =20kg

Woodlets Briquettes x 2 @10kg = 20kg
Woodlets Heat Logs x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
Pini-Kay x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
Beech Nestro x 2 @ 10kg = 20kg
ENVI 8 x 2 @9kg = 18kg
Total weight: approx. 216kg

Dense, clean mixed wood block. Very popular, easy to use and gives great heat. Easy to handle and store. Use alone or alongside other fuels.
OKO RUF briquettes are an extremely dense and very clean mixed wood briquette made from sawdust from a Northumbrian joinery business.
Because they’re square, RUF blocks don’t roll in the hearth, so they’re easy and safe to use in an open fire.
Giving out a steady heat with a nice flame, these are really easy-to-use-briquettes. They burn for around two to four hours depending on airflow and give off good heat for the duration of their burn time.
OKO RUF are best used as a ‘heat sink’ in the back of the fire, where they will glow for several hours and help create a really good heart in your fire. Having said that though, many people use these as a sole fuel throughout the burn. They are a handy size so they’re excellent on a smaller stove or open fire, but they’re still chunky enough to give a really good burn time.
Our briquettes are all additive-free. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.
Full Pallet: 96 x 9.5kg packs (960 briquettes) = 912kg
Three-Quarter Pallet: 72 x 9.5kg packs (720 briquettes) = 684kg

Envi 8’s Big Brother. Extra-large, clean burning hardwood briquettes from the USA. Great for long burning in big, greedy stoves. Extra-large, dense blocks, not suitable for small stoves.
Envi XL are made from clean, kiln-dried sawdust from a company in the USA that specialises in producing high quality fuels from sustainably sourced hardwoods. The sawdust is a byproduct from preparing the timber for other industries; hardwood trees are not felled specifically to make these briquettes. These exceptionally large, dense briquettes are made from oak and hard maple.
The huge size of Envi XL makes them ideal for larger stoves – they will be too big for many smaller stoves. They are unlikely to fit on a stove 4kw or smaller but check the measurements provided to be certain.
Larger than their little brother, the Envi8, each Envi XL weighs around 2.7kg and are impossible to break. They have little to no expansion when burning. Because of this, they give a long, hot burn on an established fire and are ideal for keeping large, greedy stoves going.
They are also suitable for burning overnight, with much less ash produced than RUF Bark bricks. Burn time will depend on your stove and air flow settings but some stoves will stay in overnight with these. However, we do not recommend smouldering (burning with low air flow) as it increases the particulates released into the atmosphere.
Please carefully check the provided measurements to ensure they will fit in your stove. They cannot be broken.
Best suited to long burning in stoves 5kw and over, these chunky briquettes can reduce the need to constantly feed a greedy stove.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Fine Beech sawdust grindings; dense and very clean. The best briquette in our range.
Can be broken in half for smaller stoves.
Dimension: 295mm x 95mm
Pack: 4 Logs x c.2.5kg = c.10kg
Beech Nestro are made in Germany from pure beech grindings, which produce a dense, low dust briquette. The beech sawdust comes from a company producing high-end beech products and structures. These Beech Nestro are quite simply the best briquette we have ever found – probably the best briquette in the world.
Each chunky log weighs around 2.5kg, so they’re great for bigger stoves. For smaller stoves, just break them into half before using. This is easy to do, – break them by sharply tapping two of the heat logs together. They’re very highly compressed, so they produce almost no dust and this density helps them burn for several hours. Best of all, they also produce huge amounts of heat with an attractive flame. They expand by about 25% as they burn, so place them across the firebox and just use small amounts until you’re confident with their burning characteristics on your particular stove or fire. Two will last up to four hours with excellent heat and flame characteristics. They generate a consistent heat so you don’t have to be up and down loading the stove or adjusting the air flow.
Great for both stoves and open fires. For most stoves we recommend breaking them in half, as they will expand a little while burning.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Express Bundle Delivery – Next Working Day for most of Mainland UK*
A selection of products from the Wood Fuel Basics Ready Mix range.
Wood Fuel Basics Express Bundle
Approx. 50kg in 3 packages delivered to your door
This Express Bundle consists of:
Dr Heat are carbon neutral firelighters made in England from miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax
Hotmax are also great broken up into small pieces and used to light the fire.
Woodlets Heat Logs are nestro heat logs, made in Scotland using pure wood from sustainable UK timber.
OKO RUF are a dense mixed wood briquette produced in England.
UK Hardwood Briquettes are a small, economical, easy to break hardwood briquette produced in England
Our Wood Fuel Basics pack is suitable for stoves and open fires, but please crack the larger briquettes into half for use in a smaller stove.
These easy-to-use briquettes give out steady heat with an attractive flame. They burn longer and hotter than logs, and much cleaner than coal. If you currently use traditional logs this is a great opportunity to compare heat output, cleanliness and length of burn.
Trying out the bundle before commiting to a pallet order or if you just need fuel quickly.

Scottish Charcoal, sustainably produced from Scottish hardwoods using traditional techniques, by a Community Interest Company in Stirlingshire, Scotland.
Excellent quality Scottish lumpwood charcoal, made from sustainably managed, coppiced broadleaf woodland.
The charcoal is produced by a Community Interest Company, whose aim is to provide services and products that benefit individuals, communities and the planet.
The UK imports around 85,000 tonnes of charcoal each year. Charcoal is often imported from countries at risk of deforestation, including Indonesia, Nigeria and Paraguay. The Earthworm Foundation estimates that charcoal is in Europe’s top five products that contribute towards global deforestation, along with beef, palm oil and soy.

100% natural, premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources, Woodlets Heat Logs are a great choice for general burning.
Dimension: 260mm Length per log & 90mm diameter.
Pack: 5 Logs per pack x c.2kg per briquette = c.10kg
Manufactured by the same company behind our best selling Woodlets Briquettes, the new larger Heat Logs are made from mixed softwoods, compressed into dense, large, cylindrical briquettes. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed British forests all within 40 miles of the factory.
Each briquette weighs around 2kg, and is perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. Because they’re relatively easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
Suitable for both stoves and open fires, Woodlets Heat Logs produce great heat with an excellent flame. Expansion will occur whilst burning so best to break in half and use half at a time (except for starting where you would use three half briquettes) until you get used to their burning characteristics.
Woodlets Heat Logs are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it! This also means they’re suitable to use in Smokeless Zones on DEFRA-approved appliances.
Ready to Burn is a UK Government certification that means that the heat logs have passed rigorous chemical analyses and meet FSC standards. So you can rest assured that they are safe, sustainable and clean-burning.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. Made from pure, untreated wood by-product, Woodlets Heat Logs compression alone holds them together.

Long burning with an easily-controlled heat output, Aspen Briquettes, made from sawdust produced during the manufacture of saunas. An excellent, versatile briquette.
Aspen Briquettes are made from clean, kiln-dried aspen sawdust. The sawdust is a byproduct from sauna manufacturing; trees are not felled specifically to make these briquettes. They are well compressed with minimal dust. A lovely pale golden colour, with a gentle outer sheen from their excellent, high compression levels, these briquettes are as attractive as they are effective.
Aspen Briquettes are large, nestro style heat logs with a hole down the middle of them. This makes them very versatile and easy to use. Broken into small pieces they are excellent for starting the fire; in halves or thirds they are a pleasantly hot, long-burning main fuel. They are perfect for general burning and do not have as fierce a heat as briquettes such as Beech Nestro and Pini-Kay. This means it’s easy to control the heat output. With controlled airflow, they can burn for hours while still giving out good, steady heat.
Aspen in briquette form is an excellent firewood and has none of the drawbacks of aspen in traditional log form. It does not spit or pop, and is long burning.
As with most nestro briquettes, Aspen briquettes will expand when burning, so unless you have a large stove we recommend you break them in half by tapping two together.
All stove sizes and burning stages. Aspen Briquettes burn hot and for a long-time, so they are great for quick bursts of heat as well as general burning.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Mixed hardwood, kiln dried logs, cut to 10 inch lengths. Supplied in 20kg nets. Woodsure Ready to Burn Certified.
Mixed hardwood kiln dried logs
Locally sourced mixed hardwood
Easy to light, producing a quick and attractive flame. Hot and faster burning than Ash, but great value. Like all logs, these kiln dried logs have great ‘character’ in the fireplace.
Day to day burning on all but the very smallest of stoves. Great for open fires. Clearly they are not going to burn as long, hot or as economically as our best briquettes, but they do look attractive. We sometimes use logs during the shoulder months when less heat is required and we don’t mind stoking the fire as frequently.
Parameters
Log Length : 260mm (10 inches)
Net : 700mm x 300mm x 260mm
Log: 260mm long x 60mm to 150mm wide

*Break - We strongly recommend you break these briquettes in half (or less for very small stoves) because they do expand whilst burning and you don't want them to overfill the fire.
*Easy to light - We always use a Firelighter and Kindling Sticks to start our fires. Most briquettes are graded four stars to light because they are quite dense and require kindling.
Notes:
