Mixed hardwood, kiln dried logs, cut to 8 inch lengths. Supplied in 10kg nets. Woodsure Ready to Burn Certified.
Mixed hardwood kiln dried logs
Locally sourced mixed hardwood.
Easy to light, producing a quick and attractive flame. Hot and faster burning than Ash, but great value. Like all logs, these kiln dried logs have great ‘character’ in the fireplace.
Day to day burning on all but the very smallest of stoves. Great for open fires. Clearly they are not going to burn as long, hot or as economically as our best briquettes, but they do look attractive. We sometimes use logs during the shoulder months when less heat is required and we don’t mind stoking the fire as frequently.
Parameters
Log Length : 200mm (8 inches)
Net : 550mm x 280mm x 200mm
Log: 220mm long x 60mm to 150mm wide

Lewis RUF briquettes are a good general purpose briquette. Made in Nova Scotia, Canada from slow growing Eastern White Pine sawdust.
New improved-manufacture Lewis RUF briquettes are a good general purpose briquette. Made in Nova Scotia, Canada from slow growing Eastern White Pine sawdust, these are great value.
Because they’re square, RUF blocks don’t roll in the hearth, so they’re easy and safe to use in an open fire.
Giving out a steady heat with a nice flame, these are really easy-to-use-briquettes. They burn for around two to three hours depending on airflow and give off good heat for the duration of their burn time.
Lewis RUF are best used as a ‘heat sink’ in the back of the fire, where they will glow for a couple of hours and help create a really good heart in your fire. Having said that though, many people use Lewis RUF as a sole fuel throughout the burn. They are a handy size so they’re excellent on a smaller stove or open fire, but they’re still chunky enough to give a really good burn time.
Our briquettes are all additive-free. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them.
The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we are constantly working with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by using cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible. For more information on our use of plastics please see Our Environmental Responsibility.

100% natural, premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources, Roastie Toasties are a great choice for general burning.
Roastie Toasties are simply pre-snapped Woodlets Briquettes made from mixed softwoods, compressed into dense, chunky heat logs. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed British forests.
The briquette pieces weigh between 0.5 and 1kg, and are perfect for small stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. The rounded square shape is practical and popular because it stops the heat log from rolling on the fire. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
Suitable for both stoves and open fires, Roastie Toasties produce great heat with an excellent flame.
Roastie Toasties are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it! This also means they’re suitable to use in Smokeless Zones on DEFRA-approved appliances.
Ready to Burn is a UK Government certification that means that the heat logs have passed rigorous chemical analyses and meet FSC standards. So you can rest assured that they are safe, sustainable and clean-burning.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. Made from pure, untreated wood by-product, Woodlets Briquettes compression alone holds them together.

Manufacturers widely use plastic to wrap briquettes, ensuring that they stay dry. A damp briquette breaks up, making it unsuitable for burning. We genuinely care about the environmental impact of our products, and are constantly working to improve the sustainability of our packaging by using cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.
Traditional kindling sticks in nets. Evenly sized and kiln dried. Sourced locally to us in Dumfries and Galloway, from sustainable sources.
Packed in nets. Traditional Kindling sticks are made in Scotland from local, sustainably sourced kiln-dried softwoods. Consistently sized and very attractive, they are a traditional way of lighting your fire.
An old-fashioned favourite, our kindlers are clean, dry and easy to light. They will burn quicker than Hotmax or other cobs but will ignite a well-laid wood based fire easily and effectively.
Starting a wood-based fire. Use a good handful of sticks on top of a Dr Heat firelighter and place one or two briquettes on top.
Kindling sticks are packaged in Nets – We are working with our supplier to move to cardboard boxes as soon as possible. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Woodlets is the UK’s leading brand of super premium grade wood pellets. Woodlets are produced in Scotland from 100% sustainable UK timber, are BSL registered and fully RHI compliant.
Woodlets biomass pellets are the UK’s leading brand of super premium grade wood pellets. Woodlets are produced in Scotland from 100% sustainable UK timber, are BSL registered and fully RHI compliant.
We are registered with the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) and every purchase comes with a BSL compliant receipt.
Woodlets biomass pellets are only for use in biomass boilers and specialised pellet stoves; they are not suitable for use in wood burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, or open fires.
Woodlets are also suitable for use in pellet-fired pizza ovens. These are softwood pellets but once pelletised, there is very little difference between soft and hardwoods. They have the same energy output as branded hardwood pellets but cost much less to buy. You can read about our personal experiences using Woodlets as pizza fuel here.
Woodlets are produced from FSC certified forestry. FSC stands for the Forest Stewardship Council. This ensures that the timber used is sourced from forestry which complies with strict social and economical responsibility standards. To read more about the Forest Stewardship Council, click here.
Woodlets are made in Ayrshire using timber from local forestry, reducing the distance that the raw materials have to travel to be processed. This helps us to drastically reduce our carbon footprint.
A handy UK made cob, ideal for starting the fire, reviving a dying fire, or as a main fuel for small stoves. Made from 100% by-product.
Hotmax 20kg is made in the UK from softwood fines (sawdust and bark) extracted whilst making dust free horse bedding. The wood used is all from sustainably managed British forestry and the Hotmax cobs are made using a product that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
Two or three cobs will produce fast heat and flame, leaving a good ember base. Use a handful of Hotmax with a Waxling firelighter in the centre to get the fire going quickly. They do expand slightly, so place them carefully in the fire so they don’t expand onto the glass window or hearth.
Starting or reviving a fire. The fact that they’re a bit smaller than some of the other briquettes makes them great for quick heat and they’re brilliant for reviving a dying fire. They’re an ideal kindling replacement but can also be a main fuel in smaller stoves. The cobs come in a variety of sizes but larger ones can be broken if needed. They hold their shape well, so are clean to handle.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

A British made hardwood briquette, ideal for small stoves under 5kw. An economical and easy to use briquette.
Everyday Value Briquettes (formerly known as UK Hard) are a cylindrical briquette made from a mixture of hardwoods. They’re made in England using sawdust produced from the manufacture of hardwood mouldings for furniture. Each 5kg pack contains four briquettes that very easily break into smaller sections; this makes them better suited to smaller stoves as they may burn too fast in larger stoves.
They are easy to light and quick to reach a high operating temperature, which enables your stove to work at maximum efficiency. They burn with a lively flame to start with, then turn red hot and provide a good steady heat for a couple of hours. Everyday Value Briquettes will expand lengthways as they burn, so place them across your fire rather than pointing towards the hearth.
Smaller stoves under 5kw. Break them up into smaller pieces and place them around one firelighter for a quick and easy way to light the fire, or use as a main fuel.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.
So you can focus on getting the perfect mix, we’ve kept it simple:
The Wood Fuel Co-operative offers you the ability to Pick and Mix your own pallet of wood fuel. This unique service, where we build a pallet to your exact requirements, is a flexible, cost-effective way to buy your briquettes.
‘Mix Your Own’ Pallets start with a base charge of £61, which covers the cost of packing, wrapping, strapping and delivering (surcharges apply for offshore) your pallet. This lets us offer you the unique ability to have total flexibility with your choice and quantity of products. You can put as much or as little on your base pallet as you choose, of any combination of briquettes, as long as you stay within the maximum 960kg weight limit.
Each pallet must have no more than 960kg on it; you will be alerted if your order exceeds the weight limit. You can order multiple ‘Mix Your Own’ Pallets but you must add each pallet to your basket separately. There are quantity restrictions on some items; this is due to packaging requirements.
*Break - We strongly recommend you break these briquettes in half (or less for very small stoves) because they do expand whilst burning and you don't want them to overfill the fire.
*Easy to light - We always use a Firelighter and Kindling Sticks to start our fires. Most briquettes are graded four stars to light because they are quite dense and require kindling.
