Description

Woodlets Heat Logs

Woodlets Heat Logs are 100% natural, premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources

Made from:

Manufactured by the same company behind our best selling Woodlets Briquettes, the new larger Heat Logs are made from mixed softwoods, compressed into dense, large, cylindrical briquettes. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed British forests all within 40 miles of the factory.

Burning characteristics:

Each briquette weighs around 2kg, and is perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. Because they’re relatively easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.

Woodlets Briquettes Ready To Burn logo - Wood Fuel Co-operative

Perfect for:

Suitable for both stoves and open fires, Woodlets Heat Logs produce great heat with an excellent flame. Expansion will occur whilst burning so best to break in half and use half at a time (except for starting where you would use three half briquettes) until you get used to their burning characteristics.

Woodlets Heat Logs are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it! This also means they’re suitable to use in Smokeless Zones on DEFRA-approved appliances.

Ready to Burn is a UK Government certification that means that the heat logs have passed rigorous chemical analyses and meet FSC standards. So you can rest assured that they are safe, sustainable and clean-burning.An image of the UK flag

None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. Made from pure, untreated wood by-product, Woodlets Heat Logs compression alone holds them together.

Packaging

These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.

Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes.

Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.

Delivery

Pallets

All prices shown include the cost of mainland UK delivery. For offshore addresses, you can check if surcharges apply using our postcode checker

Due to industry regulation changes, if you require a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle the maximum pallet weight you can order is 720kgs. If you are unsure what vehicle size you need please phone us on 01387 731 210 to discuss your requirements.

Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, Palletways, not our own drivers.

Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.

The maximum weight of a pallet for non-restricted access deliveries is 980kg.

Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.

A good guide is to expect the driver to leave your pallet where your bin goes out for collection.

If Palletways are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

For detailed information on pallet deliveries, please see our dedicated page.

Express Packs:

Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.

We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

For further information on delivery, please see our dedicated page.

Storing Your Briquettes

We recommend storing your briquettes indoors only.

Storing Your Briquettes – The Basics: DO store your briquettes in:
    • Watertight shed
    • Dry garage
    • Porch or conservatory
    • Inside house
    • Dry outbuildings
    • Some plastic garden stores, as long as they are watertight
DO NOT store your briquettes in:
    • Traditional log stores
    • Uncovered, outdoor areas
    • Buildings that are damp or have high humiditiy levels
Traditional log stores are open or vented. This is because logs require airflow around them to keep them dry. Briquettes are already dry so if they are exposed to moisture they will start to expand. This makes them useless for burning. Storing your briquettes the right way is really important.A damp briquette will just turn back into sawdust!
