These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes.
Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.

Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, Palletways, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
If Palletways are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.
For detailed information on pallet deliveries, please see our dedicated page.

Made from fine, kiln dried pine strands (wood wool) coated in candle wax, these dense little firelighters are clean, chemical free and odourless.
Waxling Firelighters are made from fine, kiln dried pine strands (wood wool) coated in candle wax. They are 100% natural, chemical free and odourless, so no smell on your fingers after handling, and they’re completely safe to use.
A Waxling Firelighter burns for about 8-10 minutes, which is long enough to light any well-built wood fire. Because they’re densely bound, just one in the middle of a handful of cobs or kindlers lights easily. Sometimes you’ll find a Waxling that’s a bit too tightly bound – don’t worry, just twist it a little first to loosen the outer fibres.
There are a few wood wool lighters on the market but many of them are very poor quality, so you need to use a few of them per fire. Waxling Firelighters are one of the best we’ve found, because you only need to use one per fire, which makes them better value then the cheaper packs. They’re also more attractive and cleaner than many alternative brands. Our staff love them!
Waxling Firelighters are a clean, natural and very effective way of lighting any wood-based fire. Because they’re so attractive, they’re also a very popular gift item, especially at Christmas. You can use them year round to light barbecues, chimineas, firepits and pizza ovens as well.
Packaged in Perthshire, Scotland by a small family firm, Waxling Firelighters come in plastic bags of 40 firelighters.
The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we are constantly working with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by using cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.

Dr Heat Firelighters are carbon neutral firelighters made from UK grown Miscanthus grass, which is coated in candle wax.
Dr Heat Firelighters are carbon neutral firelighters. Made from UK grown Miscanthus grass which is coated in lightly scented candle wax. They are 100% natural, 100% UK made and in cardboard packaging. The colour varies from natural to red or purple, depending on the wax being used. The wax comes from a factory making scented candles and is a waste product that would otherwise end up in landfill. The lighters have a pleasant scent. The production facility is run by solar panels. All packaging materials are 100% recyclable cardboard.
A Dr Heat Firelighter lights first time, every time and burns for about 10 minutes, which is long enough to light any well-built wood fire. Easy to light.
A clean, natural and very effective way of lighting any wood-based fire. You can use them year round to light firepits, stoves and open fires. For cooking appliances; pizza ovens, BBQs etc, we recommend our unscented Waxling Firelighters.
Miscanthus is a high yielding grass, grown specifically for energy production. Dr Heat’s crops are grown in Somerset and harvested in the Spring when they are naturally ripe. This reduces the need for further drying and removes the use of fossil fuels to do so.
Each tonne of Miscanthus burnt instead of coal, will prevent the emission of up to two tonnes of carbon dioxide. An additional benefit of growing Miscanthus is its ability to actively sequester carbon within the crop’s rhizomes. Miscanthus grows again each your from its extensive and expanding rhizome structure, so no need for annual planting with the associated additional carbon footprint.
Miscanthus is recognised as the number one energy crop by the biggest power producers in the UK. It is a carbon neutral replacement for coal.

Premium kiln dried kindling sticks in nets. Produced in the UK.

Stacked in nets. Premium Kindling sticks are made in Scotland from local, sustainably sourced kiln-dried softwoods. These kindlers are even size and length, at approx 20cm.
An old-fashioned favourite, our kindlers are clean, dry and easy to light. They will burn quicker than Hotmax or other cobs but will ignite a well-laid wood based fire easily and effectively.
Starting a wood-based fire. Use a good handful of sticks on top of a Dr Heat firelighter and place one or two briquettes on top.

A handy UK made cob, ideal for starting the fire, reviving a dying fire, or as a main fuel for small stoves.
Dimension: 50mm to 160mm x 70mm
Pack: 10kg

Hotmax 10kg is made in the UK from softwood fines (sawdust and bark) extracted whilst making dust free horse bedding. The wood used is all from sustainably managed British forestry and the Hotmax cobs are made using a product that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
Two or three cobs will produce fast heat and flame, leaving a good ember base. Use a handful of Hotmax with a Waxling firelighter in the centre to get the fire going quickly. They do expand slightly, so place them carefully in the fire so they don’t expand onto the glass window or hearth.
Starting or reviving a fire. The fact that they’re a bit smaller than some of the other briquettes makes them great for quick heat and they’re brilliant for reviving a dying fire. They’re an ideal kindling replacement but can also be a main fuel in smaller stoves. The cobs come in a variety of sizes but larger ones can be broken if needed. They hold their shape well, so are clean to handle.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

A small, versatile hardwood briquette. Easy to light, high heat output, good flame.
Dimension: 300mm long x 72mm dia.
Pack: 4 briquettes = 5kg

UK Hardwood Briquettes are a cylindrical briquette made from mixed hardwoods. They’re made in England using sawdust produced from the manufacture of hardwood mouldings for furniture. Each 5kg pack contains four briquettes that easily break into smaller sections if required.
They are easy to light and quick to reach a high operating temperature, which enables your stove to work at maximum efficiency. They burn with a lively flame and great heat and are a perfect starter briquette or a stand-alone briquette in smaller stoves.
A small, versatile hardwood briquette made in the UK. Easy to light with a high heat output; an ideal fuel for small stoves or for a quick flame and heat when using a dense long-burn briquette such as Beech Nestro.
They are ideal for stoves up to 5kw or for a quick starter flame and instant heat when using a large dense long-burn briquette such as Beech Nestro. Break them up into smaller pieces and place them around one firelighter for a quick and easy way to light the fire, or use as a main fuel in smaller stoves.
These are economy briquettes, not long-burners. They’re great for smaller stoves and for quickly heating up the room but they’re not an ideal main fuel for larger stoves. They’re not a replacement for Beech Nestro or Woodlets, but they are brilliant when used alongside longer-burning products.
They also need completely dry storage in order to keep them at their best.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

100% natural, premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources, Roastie Toasties are a great choice for general burning.
Dimension: 50mm to 160mm x 70mm
Pack: 20kg
Roastie Toasties are simply broken-up Woodlets Briquettes made from mixed softwoods. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed British forests.

The briquette pieces weigh between 0.5 and 1kg, and are perfect for small stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. The rounded square shape is practical and popular because it stops the heat log from rolling on the fire. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
Suitable for both stoves and open fires, Roastie Toasties produce great heat with an excellent flame.
Roastie Toasties are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it! This also means they’re suitable to use in Smokeless Zones on DEFRA-approved appliances.
Ready to Burn is a UK Government certification that means that the heat logs have passed rigorous chemical analyses and meet FSC standards. So you can rest assured that they are safe, sustainable and clean-burning.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. Made from pure, untreated wood by-product, Woodlets Briquettes compression alone holds them together.

If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

Premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources, Woodlets Briquettes are a great choice for general burning.
Dimension: 295mm x 70mm x 70mm
Pack: 6 Logs x c.1.67kg = c.10kg
Woodlets Briquettes are made from mixed softwoods, compressed into dense heat logs. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed British forests.

Each briquette weighs around 1.67kg, and is perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. The rounded square shape is practical and popular because it stops the heat log from rolling on the fire. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
Suitable for both stoves and open fires, Woodlets Briquettes produce great heat with an excellent flame. Be careful if using them full size though – they expand approximately 25% of their length whilst burning. Always break in half and use half at a time (except for starting where you would use three half briquettes) until you get used to their burning characteristics.
Woodlets Briquettes are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it!

Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, Palletways, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet for non-restricted access deliveries is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
A good guide is to expect the driver to leave your pallet where your bin goes out for collection.

Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

Premium-grade heat logs from sustainable British sources, Goldies are a great choice for smaller stoves.
Dimension: 200mm x 90mm
Pack: 5 Logs x c.1.48kg = c.7.4kg
Goldies are a short nestro with a hole. They’re made from mixed softwoods, compressed into dense heat logs. The sawdust comes from sustainably managed Scottish forests.

Goldies are approximately 200mm long, and are perfect for small stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 45 mins – 1.5 hours. The hole through the middle aids air flow, so they burn beautifully, and for a good length of time. Shorter than a standard nestro, they are ideal for smaller stoves but can be broken if needed, either for starting the fire or if your stove is very small.
Suitable for both smaller stoves and open fires, Goldies produce great heat with an excellent flame.
Goldies are certified Ready to Burn and they comply with the Clean Air Act – in fact, they exceed it! This also means they’re suitable to use in Smokeless Zones on DEFRA-approved appliances.

UK RUF briquettes are a dense softwood briquette, produced in England.
Dimension: 150mm x 90-100mm x 62mm
Pack: 12 blocks = 10kg approx
UK RUF briquettes are a dense softwood briquette produced in England.
Their rich reddish brown colour is due to the mixture of softwoods used. They may contain some bark but they are not suitable for keeping a stove in overnight.

Because they’re square, RUF blocks don’t roll in the hearth, so they’re easy and safe to use in an open fire.
Giving out a steady heat with a nice flame, these are really easy-to-use-briquettes. They burn for around two hours depending on airflow and give off good heat for the duration of their burn time.
UK RUF are great to get the fire going, used as a ‘heat sink’ in the back of the fire, where they will glow for a couple of hours and help create a really good heart in your fire. Many people also use RUF blocks as a sole fuel throughout the burn. However, they do not generate the high and consistent heat of something like Pini-Kay or Beech Nestro. They are a handy size so are excellent on a smaller stove or open fire.
Our briquettes are all additive-free. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

*Break - We strongly recommend you break these briquettes in half (or less for very small stoves) because they do expand whilst burning and you don't want them to overfill the fire.
*Easy to light - We always use a Firelighter and Kindling Sticks to start our fires. Most briquettes are graded four stars to light because they are quite dense and require kindling.
Notes:
