Best of British Ready Mix brings together wood briquettes and heat logs made in England and Scotland. It’s a way to try several British fuels on one pallet, from briquettes that help get a fire going to denser blocks that give steadier heat. Dr Heat Firelighters are included too.
Choose a quarter, half or full pallet to suit how much fuel you need and the space you have to store it.

The stated weights include the firelighters. Individual pack weights may vary slightly. If a product is unavailable, we may substitute a suitable alternative while keeping the mix and weight as close as possible to those shown.
Where are the fuels made?
Hotmax, UK Hardwood Briquettes and Dr Heat Firelighters are made in England. OKO RUF is made in Northumberland from sawdust supplied by a local joinery business. Woodlets Briquettes and Woodlets Heat Logs are made in Scotland.
Using Best of British Ready Mix
Start your fire with a Dr Heat Firelighter and dry kindling. Hotmax or a piece of UK Hardwood Briquette can help bring a cold stove up to temperature. Once the fire is established, try Woodlets or OKO RUF for a steadier burn.
Add fuel gradually and follow your appliance manufacturer’s instructions. Some briquettes expand as they burn, so leave room around them and keep them away from the stove glass. On a suitable open fire, keep the fuel back from the edge of the grate and use a fireguard.

Storage and delivery
Keep the packs completely dry and move them under cover when your pallet arrives. The pack and pallet wrapping should not be treated as waterproof or used for outdoor storage.
Delivery to most mainland UK postcodes is included in the pallet prices. Some addresses have an additional charge; see our pallet delivery information before ordering.
Palletways deliver kerbside using a manual pallet truck, which needs a firm, flat and level surface. You’ll need to be available to receive the pallet. A 7.5-tonne vehicle may be requested for the quarter or half pallet, but cannot carry the full pallet. Select the access restrictions option at checkout and add your request to the order notes.
