Dr Heat Firelighters are carbon neutral firelighters. Made from UK grown Miscanthus grass which is coated in lightly scented candle wax. They are 100% natural, 100% UK made and in cardboard packaging. The colour varies from natural to red or purple, depending on the wax being used. The wax comes from a factory making scented candles and is a waste product that would otherwise end up in landfill. The lighters have a pleasant scent. The production facility is run by solar panels. All packaging materials are 100% recyclable cardboard.
Burning characteristics:
A Dr Heat Firelighter lights first time, every time and burns for about 10 minutes, which is long enough to light any well-built wood fire. Easy to light.

What is Miscanthus?
Miscanthus is a high yielding grass, grown specifically for energy production. Dr Heat’s crops are grown in Somerset and harvested in the Spring when they are naturally ripe. This reduces the need for further drying and removes the use of fossil fuels to do so.
Each tonne of Miscanthus burnt instead of coal, will prevent the emission of up to two tonnes of carbon dioxide. An additional benefit of growing Miscanthus is its ability to actively sequester carbon within the crop’s rhizomes. Miscanthus grows again each your from its extensive and expanding rhizome structure, so no need for annual planting with the associated additional carbon footprint.
Miscanthus is recognised as the number one energy crop by the biggest power producers in the UK. It is a carbon neutral replacement for coal.

RUF Long Burn is a dense softwood briquette made from the bark of UK softwood conifer trees.
Because they’re square, RUF blocks don’t roll in the hearth, so they’re easy and safe to use in an open fire.
Burning characteristics:
RUF Long Burn react quickly to air flow. They light easily and burn brightly with the stove vents open but quickly go into slumber mode with the air vents closed. In slumber mode they will last anywhere between four and eight hours depending on air flow and the quality of your stove.

What are Goldies Heat Logs made from?
Goldies are made from mixed softwood sawdust sourced from sustainably managed Scottish forests. The sawdust is compressed under high pressure to form short, dense Nestro heat logs.
They contain no chemicals, additives or artificial binders. The untreated wood by-product is held together by compression alone.
What are Goldies like to burn?
Goldies produce excellent heat with a lively, attractive flame.
The hole through the centre allows air to move through the log, helping it light and burn evenly. Their active burn time is approximately 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, although the actual time will depend on your stove, flue and airflow settings.
Are Goldies suitable for a small stove?
Yes. At approximately 20cm long, Goldies are a convenient choice for smaller stoves where a standard Nestro heat log may be too large.
They may fit into your stove without being broken, although they can be divided into smaller pieces when lighting the fire or when using them in a particularly compact firebox.
Leave enough room around the fuel for it to burn safely and don’t allow a heat log to press against the stove glass. Every stove is different, so always follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and take care not to overfill the firebox.

Can I use Goldies on an open fire?
Yes. Goldies are suitable for open fires as well as wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.
Their compact size makes them easy to position. Add the heat logs gradually, place them well back from the front of the fire and leave enough room for the fuel to burn safely.
Don’t overload the fire, and always use a suitable fireguard.
Do I need to break Goldies before burning?
Goldies are shorter than standard Nestro heat logs, so they may fit into your stove without being broken.
However, you can break them into smaller pieces when starting the fire or if your stove has a particularly small firebox. Smaller pieces will generally light and release their heat more quickly.
Position the pieces carefully and leave enough room around them for air to circulate.
How do I light Goldies?
Place several smaller pieces around a natural firelighter, leaving enough space between them for air to circulate.
Light the firelighter and allow the smaller pieces to catch properly. Once the fire is established, add larger sections as required.
Avoid filling the firebox too tightly, as this can restrict airflow and make the fuel more difficult to burn efficiently.
Can Goldies be used in a Smoke Control Area?
Goldies can be used in a Smoke Control Area when burned in a DEFRA-approved appliance and in accordance with the appliance manufacturer’s instructions.

How should Goldies Heat Logs be stored?
Goldies must be kept completely dry.
A dry garage, watertight shed, porch, conservatory or dry outbuilding is suitable. The packs can also be stored inside your home or in a watertight plastic garden store.
Don’t keep them in a traditional open-sided log store, an uncovered outdoor area or a damp building. Heat logs are already very dry and readily absorb moisture. If they become damp, they’ll begin to expand and can eventually turn back into sawdust.
Is the packaging waterproof?
No. The packs are wrapped in plastic to hold the heat logs together, but the wrapping may have small gaps and shouldn’t be treated as waterproof.
The complete pallet is also plastic wrapped for protection during transport. This provides some temporary protection from poor weather during delivery, but it isn’t suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when they arrive. Check with your local authority to find out whether the plastic packaging can be recycled in your area.
Is delivery included?
Delivery to most UK mainland postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown. Some mainland and offshore addresses carry an additional surcharge, which you can check using our postcode and delivery information.
Your order will be delivered by our pallet courier, Palletline, rather than by one of our own vehicles. Delivery normally takes three to five working days for most areas, and someone must be there to receive it.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Delivery is made at the kerbside using a tail-lift vehicle and pallet truck.
The pallet footprint is normally approximately 1.2m × 1m. The driver needs a firm, flat and level surface on which to unload. A pallet truck can’t move safely over gravel, grass, slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Deliveries are normally made on an 18-tonne lorry. As a rough guide, if a bin lorry can reach your property, an 18-tonne delivery vehicle should be able to as well. The driver will make the final decision about whether it is safe to enter your road.
The pallet will normally be left at the kerbside or where your bins are placed for collection.
What if access to my property is restricted?
If you need a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg.
A quarter or half pallet of Goldies can be carried on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. A three-quarter or full pallet is too heavy and requires suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request. If you need one, select the Access Restrictions option at checkout and add a note asking for a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Do I need to break Woodlets before burning?

Woodlets expand by approximately 25% of their length as they burn. We recommend breaking them in half and using one half at a time. When lighting the fire, use three half-briquettes.
Leave enough space for the fuel to expand and don’t position a full briquette where it could reach the stove glass or fall onto the hearth.
Every stove is different, so always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and take care not to overfill the firebox.
Can I burn Woodlets on an open fire?
Yes. Woodlets work well on open fires as well as in suitable stoves.

The Wood Fuel Co-operative offers you the ability to Pick and Mix your own pallet of wood fuel. This unique service, where we build a pallet to your exact requirements, is a flexible, cost-effective way to buy your briquettes.
‘Mix Your Own’ Pallets start with a base charge of £50, which covers the cost of packing, wrapping, strapping and delivering (surcharges apply for offshore) your pallet. This lets us offer you the unique ability to have total flexibility with your choice and quantity of products. You can put as much or as little on your base pallet as you choose, of any combination of briquettes, as long as you stay within the maximum 980kg weight limit.
Due to industry regulation changes, if you require a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle the maximum pallet weight you can order is 720kgs. If you are unsure what vehicle size you need please phone us on 01387 731 210 to discuss your requirements.
Each pallet must have no more than 980kg on it; you will be alerted if your order exceeds the weight limit. You can order multiple ‘Mix Your Own’ Pallets but you must add each pallet to your basket separately. There are quantity restrictions on some items; this is due to packaging requirements.

Please store your pizza oven wood pellets indoors in the dry because they will absorb any atmospheric moisture. This will make them much less efficient.
Woodlets are only for use in specially designed pizza ovens, biomass boilers and specialised pellet stoves. They are not suitable for use in wood burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, or open fires.

Burning characteristics:
- Dr. Heat Firelighters light easily and burn for about ten minutes, easily setting light to any good dry kindling. We like the fact they are a UK product and a highly effective, easy to use lighter.
- Hardwood Pini-Kay are easily cracked into smaller sections if required, but they do not expand and so are easy to use on a small stove. They light easily and burn long and hot with an excellent flame. Highly suitable for the smaller stove of around 5kw. The bark content leaves more ash, which in turn helps with long burn time.
- UK Hardwood Briquettes are easy to light and quick to reach a high operating temperature, which enables your stove to work at maximum efficiency. They burn with a lively flame to start with, then turn red hot and provide a good steady heat for a couple of hours. Everyday Value Briquettes will expand lengthways as they burn, so place them across your fire rather than pointing towards the hearth.
- Hotmax are handy little cobs, two or three cobs will produce fast heat and flame, leaving a good ember base. Use a handful of Hotmax with a Waxling or Dr Heat firelighter in the centre to get the fire going quickly. They do expand slightly, so place them carefully in the fire so they don’t expand onto the glass window or hearth.
- Roastie Toasties can be used as a kindling to light or revive any fire. Being quite small they also make an ideal main fuel for small stoves under 5kw.
- Woodlets Briquettes are perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
- UK RUF are a dense softwood RUF briquette. They will burn for around 1-2 hours.

An easy to use mix of products that are ideal for a small stove. Easy to light and giving good heat over a long period, this mixture of briquettes will suit most small stoves.

These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes.
Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.

Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
If Palletways are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

Waxling Firelighters are made from fine, kiln dried pine strands (wood wool) coated in candle wax. They are 100% natural, chemical free and odourless, so no smell on your fingers after handling, and they’re completely safe to use.
Burning characteristics:
A Waxling Firelighter burns for about 8-10 minutes, which is long enough to light any well-built wood fire. Because they’re densely bound, just one in the middle of a handful of cobs or kindlers lights easily. Sometimes you’ll find a Waxling that’s a bit too tightly bound – don’t worry, just twist it a little first to loosen the outer fibres.
There are a few wood wool lighters on the market but many of them are very poor quality, so you need to use a few of them per fire. Waxling Firelighters are one of the best we’ve found, because you only need to use one per fire, which makes them better value then the cheaper packs. They’re also more attractive and cleaner than many alternative brands. Our staff love them!

What are Woodlets Biomass Pellets made from?
Woodlets are produced from softwood grown in sustainably managed British forests, including FSC-certified forestry.
The pellets are made in Ayrshire using timber from local forests. Keeping production close to the source reduces the distance the raw material needs to travel before it reaches the pellet plant.
The wood is processed and compressed into consistent 6mm pellets suitable for compatible automated fuel-feeding systems.
What can I use Woodlets in?
Woodlets are suitable for:
- Biomass boilers designed to use 6mm wood pellets

Are Woodlets suitable for pellet stoves?
Yes. Woodlets can be used in specialised wood-pellet stoves designed for 6mm pellets.
They must not be placed in an ordinary wood-burning or multi-fuel stove unless the appliance has been specifically designed or adapted by the manufacturer to burn wood pellets.
Are Woodlets suitable for pizza ovens?
Yes. Woodlets work very well in pizza ovens designed specifically to burn wood pellets.
They can be used in compatible Ooni models and other pellet-fired pizza ovens. Always check the pizza-oven manufacturer’s instructions to make sure that 6mm wood pellets are suitable for your particular model.
Although Woodlets are made from softwood, once the wood has been compressed into pellets, there is very little practical difference between softwood and hardwood pellets of a similar quality.
Can I use Woodlets in an ordinary wood-burning stove?
No. Woodlets must not be used loose in an ordinary wood-burning stove, multi-fuel stove or open fire.
They’re made for appliances with a fuel system and combustion chamber designed specifically for wood pellets. Using loose pellets in an unsuitable appliance could lead to poor combustion or unsafe operation.
If you’re unsure, check your appliance manufacturer’s instructions before ordering.
What does ENplus A1 mean?
ENplus A1 is a recognised quality standard for wood pellets. It covers characteristics such as pellet size, moisture content, ash content, mechanical durability and energy performance.
Woodlets have a consistent 6mm diameter and low ash content. This helps them feed smoothly and burn reliably in a compatible biomass boiler or pellet stove.
Are Woodlets BSL registered?
Yes. Woodlets are registered with the Biomass Suppliers List.
Every purchase comes with a BSL-compliant receipt. Keep this receipt with your records if you need evidence that the fuel has been purchased from a registered supplier.

How should Woodlets Biomass Pellets be stored?
Wood pellets must be kept completely dry.
A dry garage, watertight shed or other dry, covered building is suitable. The bags can also be kept inside your home or in a watertight plastic garden store.
Don’t store the pellets in a traditional open-sided log store, an uncovered outdoor area or a damp building.
If moisture reaches the pellets, they’ll swell and begin to break down into sawdust. Damp pellets can also cause feeding problems or poor combustion in a biomass boiler or pellet stove.
Is the packaging waterproof?
No. Woodlets are supplied in plastic bags, but the bags shouldn’t be treated as completely waterproof.
The complete pallet is also plastic wrapped for protection during transport. This provides temporary protection from poor weather during delivery, but it isn’t suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the bags under cover when they arrive. Check with your local authority to find out whether the plastic packaging can be recycled in your area.
Is delivery included?
Delivery to most UK mainland postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown. Some mainland and offshore addresses carry an additional surcharge, which you can check using our postcode and delivery information.
Express Packs are sent separately by parcel courier. You can read more about this service in our parcel delivery information.
Pallet orders are delivered by our pallet courier, Palletline, rather than by one of our own vehicles. Pallet delivery normally takes three to five working days for most areas, and someone must be there to receive it.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Delivery is made at the kerbside using a tail-lift vehicle and pallet truck.
The pallet footprint is normally approximately 1.2m × 1m. The driver needs a firm, flat and level surface on which to unload. A pallet truck can’t move safely over gravel, grass, slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Deliveries are normally made on an 18-tonne lorry. As a rough guide, if a bin lorry can reach your property, an 18-tonne delivery vehicle should be able to as well. The driver will make the final decision about whether it is safe to enter your road.
The pallet will normally be left at the kerbside or where your bins are placed for collection.
What if access to my property is restricted?
If you need a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg.
A quarter, half or three-quarter pallet of Woodlets can be carried on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. A full pallet weighs approximately 960kg and requires suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request. If you need one, select the Access Restrictions option at checkout and add a note asking for a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Burning characteristics:
- Dr. Heat Firelighters light easily and burn for about ten minutes, easily setting light to any good dry kindling. We like the fact they are a UK product and a highly effective, easy to use lighter.
- Kindling is a traditional way to start your fire.
- Hotmax can be used as a kindling to light or revive any fire. Being quite small they also make an ideal main fuel for small stoves under 5kw. They can be variable in density with the harder denser briquettes being best for using as a main fuel whilst the softer lighter ones are best for use as a kindling.
- Hardwood Pini-Kay are easily cracked into smaller sections if required, but they do not expand and so are easy to use on a small stove. They light easily and burn long and hot with an excellent flame. Highly suitable for the smaller stove of around 5kw. The bark content leaves more ash, which in turn helps with long burn time.
- Woodlets Briquettes are made in Scotland from softwood forest thinnings. They are a great main burning fuel.
- Woodlets Heat Logs are perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
- Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs are traditional and attactive on an open fire.

What are the different products like to burn?
Dr Heat Firelighters
Dr Heat Firelighters are made in the UK from dried miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax.
They light easily and burn for around 10 minutes, helping good, dry kindling catch fire. One firelighter is normally enough to get a properly prepared fire started.
Roastie Toasties
Roastie Toasties are small softwood briquettes that light readily and produce heat quickly.
They can be used in place of kindling to light a fire or to revive one that has started to die down. Their small size also makes them a useful main fuel for stoves under 5kW.
UK Hardwood Briquettes
UK Hardwood Briquettes are made in England from clean hardwood by-product.
They are easy to light and quickly bring a stove up to operating temperature. They begin with a lively flame before settling into a bed of steady heat.
UK Hardwood Briquettes expand lengthways while burning. Position them across the fire rather than pointing towards the stove glass, and always leave sufficient room for expansion.
Woodlets Heat Logs
Woodlets Heat Logs are made in Scotland from mixed softwood sourced from sustainable UK timber.
They produce excellent heat with an attractive flame and have an active burn time of around 1.5–2 hours, depending on the appliance and airflow.
Woodlets Heat Logs expand while burning. They can be broken into smaller pieces to suit your stove, but should not be packed tightly into the firebox.
How do I use Easy Everyday Mix?
Light your stove using a Dr Heat Firelighter and good, dry kindling, following the instructions supplied with your appliance.
Add a small amount of Roastie Toasties or UK Hardwood Briquettes to establish a lively flame and bring the stove up to temperature. Once the fire is burning well, add a piece of Woodlets Heat Log for a steadier burn.
Do not overfill the firebox. Add one briquette at a time until you are familiar with how each product behaves in your stove.

Can I use these briquettes on an open fire?
Yes. The wood briquettes and heat logs included in Easy Everyday Mix can be used on suitable open fires as well as wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.
Some products expand while burning, so begin with a small quantity and leave plenty of room around the fuel. Take particular care that expanding briquettes cannot move towards the edge of the grate.
Always use a suitable fireguard and follow the instructions for your appliance.
Do the briquettes contain additives?
The wood briquettes and heat logs are made from clean, untreated wood by-product. They contain no artificial additives, chemicals or binders and are held together by compression.
The included Dr Heat Firelighters are made from dried miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax.
How should I store the briquettes?
Wood briquettes must be kept completely dry. Suitable storage places include:
- a dry garage;
- a watertight shed;
- a porch or conservatory;
- a dry outbuilding;
- inside the house;
- a watertight plastic garden store.
Do not keep briquettes in an open-sided log store, uncovered outdoor area or damp building. Briquettes are already very dry and will absorb moisture if they are not properly protected.
Individual packs are wrapped to hold the briquettes together, but the packaging is not waterproof. The pallet wrapping provides temporary protection during delivery and is not suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when your pallet arrives.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Easy Everyday Mix is delivered kerbside by Palletline, normally on an 18-tonne vehicle with a tail lift.
The driver uses a manual pallet truck, so the delivery point must be firm, flat and level. Pallets cannot be moved safely over gravel, grass, steep slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Delivery is included to most mainland UK addresses, although some locations carry a surcharge. Delivery normally takes 3–5 working days for most areas, and someone must be available to receive the order.
A smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle can carry no more than 720kg. It may therefore be requested for the quarter or half pallet, but it cannot be used to deliver the full pallet.
If you require a 7.5-tonne vehicle, select the access-restrictions option at checkout and add your request to the order notes. This is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request.

These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities. Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes. Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. - Envi8 are made from clean, kiln-dried sawdust from a company in the USA that specialises in producing high quality fuels from sustainably sourced hardwoods. The sawdust is a byproduct from preparing the timber for other industries; hardwood trees are not felled specifically to make these briquettes. These large, dense briquettes are made from oak and hard maple.
- Beech Nestro are made from fine ground pure beech sawdust generated as a by-product from furniture, floor and house frame manufacture.
Burning characteristics:
- Dr. Heat Firelighters light easily and burn for about ten minutes, easily setting light to any good dry kindling. We like the fact they are a UK product and a highly effective, easy to use lighter.
- Hotmax can be used as a kindling to light or revive any fire. Being quite small they also make an ideal main fuel for small stoves under 5kw. They can be variable in density with the harder denser briquettes being best for using as a main fuel whilst the softer lighter ones are best for use as a kindling.
- Woodlets Heat Logs are perfect for all stoves and open fires. Generating excellent heat with an attractive flame, you can expect an active burn time of 1.5 – 2 hours. Because they’re easy to break they can be used on all sizes of stove or open fire.
- UK RUF are really easy-to-use-briquettes. They burn for around 1 – 2 hours depending on airflow and give off a steady heat for the duration of their burn time.
- Envi8 are perfect for larger stoves – they will be too big for many smaller stoves. Each block weighs around 1.5kg and they are impossible to break. Because of this, they give a long, hot burn on an established fire and are ideal for keeping large, greedy stoves going.

Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, TPN, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet for non-restricted access deliveries is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
A good guide is to expect the driver to leave your pallet where your bin goes out for collection.
If TPN are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

Express Packs:
Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. The driver may not be able to access your road if there are:

The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes.
Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.

What are the different products like to burn?
Dr Heat Firelighters
Dr Heat Firelighters are made in the UK from dried miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax.
They light easily and burn for around 10 minutes, helping good, dry kindling catch fire. One firelighter is normally enough to get a properly prepared fire started.
Hotmax
Hotmax briquettes are made from clean softwood fines produced during the manufacture of horse bedding.
They light readily and produce heat quickly, making them useful for starting a fire, reviving one that has started to die down or bringing a cold stove up to temperature.
Hotmax can vary slightly in density. The softer briquettes are particularly useful for lighting, while the harder, denser pieces can be used as a main fuel.
Hotmax expands lengthways while burning. Position the briquettes across the fire rather than pointing towards the stove glass and leave sufficient room for expansion.
Beech Nestro
Beech Nestro briquettes are made from finely ground beech sawdust produced during furniture, flooring and timber-frame manufacturing.
Each 10kg pack contains 4 large briquettes weighing 2.5kg each. They can be burned whole in a larger appliance or broken into smaller pieces to suit your stove.
Beech Nestro produces a good flame before settling into a hot, long-lasting glow. Depending on your appliance, fuel load and airflow, the briquettes can continue providing heat for several hours.
They are densely compressed, clean to handle and particularly well suited to use as the main fuel once the fire is established.
How do I use Premium Mix?
Light your stove using a Dr Heat Firelighter and good, dry kindling, following the instructions supplied with your appliance.
Add a small amount of Hotmax to establish a lively flame and bring the stove up to temperature. Once the fire is burning well, add a piece of Beech Nestro for a steadier, longer-lasting burn.
Beech Nestro briquettes are large and dense. Break them into smaller pieces if necessary and begin with a modest amount until you are familiar with how they perform in your appliance.
Do not overfill the firebox. Hotmax expands while burning, so position it across the fire rather than pointing towards the stove glass and leave sufficient room around the fuel.
Can I use these briquettes on an open fire?
Yes. Hotmax and Beech Nestro can be used on suitable open fires as well as wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.
Hotmax expands while burning, so begin with a small quantity and leave plenty of room around the fuel. Take particular care that expanding briquettes cannot move towards the edge of the grate.
Beech Nestro can be broken into smaller pieces to suit the size of your open fire.
Always use a suitable fireguard and follow the instructions for your appliance.
Do the briquettes contain additives?
Hotmax and Beech Nestro are made from clean, untreated wood by-product. They contain no artificial additives, chemicals or binders and are held together by compression.
The included Dr Heat Firelighters are made from dried miscanthus grass and recycled candle wax.
How should I store the briquettes?
Wood briquettes must be kept completely dry. Suitable storage places include:
- a dry garage;
- a watertight shed;
- a porch or conservatory;
- a dry outbuilding;
- inside the house;
- a watertight plastic garden store.
Do not keep briquettes in an open-sided log store, uncovered outdoor area or damp building. Briquettes are already very dry and will absorb moisture if they are not properly protected.
Individual packs are wrapped to hold the briquettes together, but the packaging is not waterproof. The pallet wrapping provides temporary protection during delivery and is not suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when your pallet arrives.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Premium Mix is delivered kerbside by Palletline, normally on an 18-tonne vehicle with a tail lift.
The driver uses a manual pallet truck, so the delivery point must be firm, flat and level. Pallets cannot be moved safely over gravel, grass, steep slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Delivery is included to most mainland UK addresses, although some locations carry a surcharge. Delivery normally takes 3–5 working days for most areas, and someone must be available to receive the order.
A smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle can carry no more than 720kg. It may therefore be requested for the quarter or half pallet, but it cannot be used to deliver the full pallet.
If you require a 7.5-tonne vehicle, select the access-restrictions option at checkout and add your request to the order notes. This is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request.

UK Hardwood Briquettes are made in England from compressed hardwood sawdust. They’re easy to light, produce a lively flame and get up to temperature quickly.
We find them particularly useful in smaller stoves, where a large or very dense heat log can sometimes be too much. Each briquette is slim enough to fit into a compact firebox and can easily be broken by hand into shorter pieces.

What are UK Hardwood Briquettes made from?
UK Hardwood Briquettes are made from mixed hardwood sawdust left over from the production of hardwood mouldings for furniture.
Nothing artificial is added. The briquettes contain pure, untreated wood by-product with no chemicals or artificial binders. Compression alone holds the sawdust together.
They’re manufactured in England, and each 5kg pack contains four briquettes.
What are they like to burn?
UK Hardwood Briquettes light readily and produce heat quickly, with a good, lively flame.
They aren’t as densely compressed as products such as Beech Nestro or RUF Oak. This means they reach a high temperature faster, but they don’t burn for as long.
That isn’t necessarily a disadvantage. If you have a smaller stove, only want the fire on for a short time or need to bring a cold room up to temperature, a faster-burning briquette can be a better fit than a large, slow-burning heat log.
Burn time and heat output will vary according to your stove, chimney or flue, and airflow settings.
Are UK Hardwood Briquettes suitable for a small stove?
Yes. This is where UK Hardwood Briquettes really come into their own.
At approximately 72mm in diameter, they fit comfortably into many compact wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves. They’re particularly well suited to appliances with an output of up to approximately 5kW.
Each briquette is around 300mm long, but it can easily be broken into shorter sections to suit the size of your firebox.

Can I use them to light the fire?
Yes. UK Hardwood Briquettes make an effective replacement for traditional kindling.
Break one or two briquettes into smaller pieces and arrange them around a natural firelighter. The broken edges catch easily and help the stove reach its operating temperature quickly.
We also use them to revive a fire that has started to fade. A few pieces placed on a bed of hot embers will usually bring back the heat and flame without having to rebuild the fire from the beginning.
Can they be used as the main fuel?
UK Hardwood Briquettes make a practical and economical main fuel for smaller stoves.
They burn more quickly than our densest briquettes, so you may need to add them more frequently. For a larger appliance or a fire that needs to last for several hours, we would normally combine them with a slower-burning fuel.
They’re designed for quick heat rather than the longest possible burn.
What can I burn them with?
UK Hardwood Briquettes can be used on their own or paired with a denser briquette.
One of our preferred combinations is UK Hardwood with Beech Nestro. The UK Hardwood catches quickly and gets the stove up to temperature, while the Beech Nestro provides a longer, steadier burn.
They also work well with RUF Oak when you want a compact combination with plenty of heat.
Can I burn UK Hardwood Briquettes on an open fire?
Yes. UK Hardwood Briquettes can be used on an open fire as well as in a suitable stove.
Break longer briquettes into shorter sections before adding them to the fire. Place them well back from the front, add them gradually and leave enough room around each piece because the briquettes may expand as they burn.
Don’t overload the fire, and always use a suitable fireguard.
Do they produce much dust?
You may find some loose sawdust in the pack, particularly if the briquettes have been broken during handling.
This is normal for a less densely compressed economy briquette and doesn’t affect how the fuel burns. Open and handle the packs carefully if you want to keep dust to a minimum.
Do UK Hardwood Briquettes expand while burning?
The briquettes may expand as they burn, so don’t pack the firebox too tightly.
Leave enough space around the fuel and keep it away from the stove glass. Breaking a full briquette into shorter sections makes it easier to position safely in a small firebox.
Every stove is different, so always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and take care not to overfill the firebox.

The certification provides reassurance that the fuel is sufficiently dry and has been checked to ensure it is made from untreated wood without artificial additives or binders.

How should I store UK Hardwood Briquettes?
Like all wood briquettes, UK Hardwood must be kept completely dry.
A dry garage, watertight shed, porch, conservatory or dry outbuilding is suitable. The packs can also be kept inside your home or in a watertight plastic garden store.
Don’t keep them in a traditional open-sided log store, an uncovered outdoor area or a damp building. Briquettes are already very dry and readily absorb moisture. If they become damp, they can swell and eventually break back down into sawdust.
Is the packaging waterproof?
No. The plastic wrapping around each pack is mainly there to hold the briquettes together. It may have small gaps and shouldn’t be treated as waterproof.
The complete pallet is also wrapped for protection during transport. This gives some temporary protection from poor weather during delivery, but it isn’t suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when they arrive. Check with your local authority to find out whether the plastic packaging can be recycled in your area.

How will my pallet be delivered?

If you need a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg.
A quarter, half or three-quarter pallet of UK Hardwood Briquettes can be carried on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. A full pallet weighs approximately 960kg and requires suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request. If you need one, select the Access Restrictions option at checkout and add a note asking for a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

With any fuel that is new to you you just need to try it and work out which briquette suits your stove, flue and lifestyle. Do not load lots of briquettes onto your stove at one time as they burn hotter and longer than dry logs. Start slowly so you get to know the characteristics of the different briquettes.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

What are the different briquettes like to burn?
Firelighting and quick heat
Waxlings and Dr Heat Firelighters make it easy to get the fire started.
Hotmax, Roastie Toasties and UK Hardwood Briquettes produce heat quickly. They are useful for lighting or reviving a fire and can also be used as a main fuel in smaller stoves.
Versatile everyday fuels
Woodlets Briquettes and Woodlets Heat Logs are useful general-purpose fuels. They produce excellent heat with an attractive flame and can be used in a wide range of stoves and open fires.
Goldies are compact softwood heat logs made from sawdust sourced from sustainably managed Scottish forests. Their shorter length makes them particularly useful in smaller stoves, and they produce strong heat with an attractive flame.
WillowWarm briquettes are made in Ireland from renewable coppiced willow. Their compact size makes them convenient for small and medium-sized stoves, although they can also be used on an open fire. They produce excellent heat with an attractive flame and have an active burn time of up to approximately 1.5 hours.
Woodlets and WillowWarm expand as they burn. Start with a small amount, position them across the fire and leave sufficient room inside the firebox.
Dense and longer-burning briquettes
RUF Oak, OKO RUF, Hardwood Pini-Kay, Beech Nestro and ENVI8 are denser briquettes that provide steady heat over a longer period.
OKO RUF are dense mixed-wood blocks that burn for approximately two to four hours, depending on the appliance and airflow. Their compact square shape makes them easy to position in smaller stoves and open fires.
Hardwood Pini-Kay produces excellent heat with an attractive flame and holds its shape well while burning. Beech Nestro and ENVI8 are larger, densely compressed briquettes that burn hot over a long period.
Can I include ENVI XL?
ENVI XL is not normally included because of its large size and is best suited to larger stoves.

Do wood briquettes contain additives?
Our wood briquettes are made from clean, untreated wood by-product. They contain no artificial additives, chemicals or binders and are held together by compression.
Can I use these briquettes on an open fire?
Yes, all of the briquettes in the selection can be used on open fires as well as in wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.
Some briquettes expand while burning, so add only a small amount at first and leave plenty of room around the fuel. This is particularly important on an open fire, where expanding briquettes could move towards the edge of the grate.
Always follow the instructions for your appliance and use a suitable fireguard with an open fire.
How should I store the briquettes?
Wood briquettes must be kept completely dry. Suitable places include:
- a dry garage;
- a watertight shed;
- a porch or conservatory;
- a dry outbuilding;
- inside the house;
- a watertight plastic garden store.
Do not keep briquettes in an open-sided log store, uncovered outdoor area or damp building. Briquettes are already very dry and will absorb moisture if they are not properly protected.
Individual packs are wrapped to hold the briquettes together, but the packaging is not waterproof. The pallet wrapping offers temporary protection during delivery and is not suitable for outdoor storage.

How will my pallet be delivered?
Meet the Briquettes is delivered kerbside by Palletline, normally on an 18-tonne vehicle with a tail lift.
The driver will use a manual pallet truck, so the delivery point must be firm, flat and level. Pallets cannot be moved safely over gravel, grass, steep slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Delivery is included to most mainland UK addresses, although some locations carry a surcharge. Delivery normally takes 3–5 working days for most areas, and someone must be available to receive the order.
If you require a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, select the access-restrictions option at checkout and add the request to your order notes. At approximately 220kg, this pallet is within the permitted weight for a smaller delivery vehicle.

What are ENVI XL briquettes made from?
ENVI XL briquettes are made from clean, kiln-dried oak and hard maple sawdust.
The sawdust comes from sustainably sourced hardwood and is a by-product of timber prepared for other industries. Trees aren’t felled specifically to produce these briquettes.
They contain no chemicals, additives or artificial binders. The untreated wood by-product is held together by compression alone.
What are ENVI XL briquettes like to burn?
ENVI XL provides a long, hot burn once the fire is properly established.
The large, dense blocks have little to no expansion and continue producing useful heat as they burn down. They’re designed to reduce the need to keep adding fuel to a large stove.
Actual burn time will depend on your stove, chimney or flue, and airflow settings.
Which stoves are ENVI XL suitable for?
ENVI XL is designed for large stoves that need plenty of fuel. We find these briquettes are generally best suited to stoves rated at 5kW or more.
They’re unlikely to fit into a stove rated at 4kW or less, although firebox sizes vary between appliances. Always check the block dimensions against the available space inside your stove before ordering.
If ENVI XL is too large for your appliance, the smaller ENVI8 briquettes may be more suitable.

Can ENVI XL briquettes be broken?
No. ENVI XL blocks are extremely dense and cannot be broken into smaller pieces.
Each block measures approximately 25.4cm × 10cm × 10cm. It’s important to check that a complete block will fit comfortably inside your firebox before placing an order.
Can I use ENVI XL in a small stove?
No. ENVI XL isn’t suitable for most small stoves.
Because the blocks cannot be broken, they need a large enough firebox to accommodate their full size. For a smaller appliance, choose a more compact briquette such as ENVI8.
Don’t try to force an ENVI XL block into a firebox where it could touch the stove glass or restrict the safe movement of air around the fuel.
What is ENVI XL best used for?
ENVI XL is particularly useful when you want to keep a large stove running without having to add smaller pieces of fuel frequently.
The briquettes are well suited to:
- Large stoves rated at approximately 5kW or more
- Producing long-lasting heat
- Maintaining an established fire
- Reducing how often fuel needs to be added
- Larger appliances that burn through smaller briquettes quickly
- Retaining heat for an extended period
How do I light ENVI XL?
ENVI XL is a large, dense fuel and is best added to a properly established fire.
Start the fire using a natural firelighter and dry kindling. Allow a strong flame and a good bed of hot embers to develop before adding an ENVI XL block.
Make sure there is enough room around the block for air to circulate. Follow your stove manufacturer’s instructions and take care not to overfill the firebox.
Can ENVI XL be used for overnight burning?
ENVI XL can be suitable for overnight burning in some stoves. Its large size and density provide a long burn, and some appliances may retain useful heat overnight.
Results will depend on the stove, chimney or flue, and airflow settings. We don’t recommend trying to extend the burn by closing the airflow too far and allowing the fuel to smoulder. Smouldering produces more unburned particulates and isn’t good for your stove, flue or the environment.
Always operate your stove in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do ENVI XL briquettes expand while burning?
ENVI XL briquettes have little to no expansion while burning.
Even so, make sure each block fits comfortably inside your firebox and isn’t positioned against the stove glass. Leave enough room around it for air to circulate and for the fuel to burn safely.

How should ENVI XL briquettes be stored?
ENVI XL must be kept completely dry.
A dry garage, watertight shed, porch, conservatory or dry outbuilding is suitable. The packs can also be stored inside your home or in a watertight plastic garden store.
Don’t keep them in a traditional open-sided log store, an uncovered outdoor area or a damp building. Briquettes are already very dry and readily absorb moisture. If they become damp, they’ll begin to expand and can eventually turn back into sawdust.
Is the packaging waterproof?
No. ENVI XL packs are wrapped in plastic, but the wrapping may have small gaps and shouldn’t be treated as waterproof. Its purpose is to hold the blocks together rather than protect them during outdoor storage.
The complete pallet is also plastic wrapped for protection during transport. This provides some temporary protection from poor weather during delivery, but it isn’t suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when they arrive. Check with your local authority to find out whether the plastic packaging can be recycled in your area.
Is delivery included?
Delivery to most UK mainland postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown. Some mainland and offshore addresses carry an additional surcharge, which you can check using our postcode and delivery information.
Your order will be delivered by our pallet courier, Palletline, rather than by one of our own vehicles. Delivery normally takes three to five working days for most areas, and someone must be there to receive it.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Delivery is made at the kerbside using a tail-lift vehicle and pallet truck.
The pallet footprint is normally approximately 1.2m × 1m. The driver needs a firm, flat and level surface on which to unload. A pallet truck can’t move safely over gravel, grass, slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Deliveries are normally made on an 18-tonne lorry. As a rough guide, if a bin lorry can reach your property, an 18-tonne delivery vehicle should be able to as well. The driver will make the final decision about whether it is safe to enter your road.
The pallet will normally be left at the kerbside or where your bins are placed for collection.
What if access to my property is restricted?
If you need a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg.
A quarter, half or three-quarter pallet of ENVI XL can be carried on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. A full pallet weighs approximately 861kg and requires suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request. If you need one, select the Access Restrictions option at checkout and add a note asking for a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Can I break ENVI8 into smaller pieces?
No. ENVI8 blocks are extremely dense and can’t be broken by hand.
This density helps them provide a substantial, long-lasting source of heat, but it also means the complete block must fit comfortably inside your firebox.
Don’t attempt to force an oversized block into your stove. Choose a smaller or more easily broken briquette if space is limited.
How should I use ENVI8?
ENVI8 works best when added to an established fire.
Begin with a natural firelighter and kindling. Once the starter fuel is burning properly and you have a good ember base, add an ENVI8 block and allow it to catch.
Its size and density will then help provide a long, hot burn. Avoid overloading the stove and always follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions.
Can ENVI8 be used for overnight burning?
ENVI8 is suitable for longer burns, and some stoves may remain warm overnight when these blocks are used.
The result will depend on your particular stove, chimney or flue, and airflow settings. Never try to extend the burn by closing the airflow until the fuel smoulders. Smouldering produces more smoke and particulate matter and can cause deposits to build up inside the stove and flue.
For safe overnight use, always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your appliance.
Can I burn ENVI8 with other fuels?
Yes. ENVI8 can be combined with other suitable wood fuels.
A quicker-lighting briquette, dry kindling or another approved starter fuel can be used to establish the fire. Once it’s burning properly, add ENVI8 to provide longer-lasting heat.
Only burn fuels approved by the manufacturer of your appliance.

Baby Beech are made in Germany from pure beech grindings, which produce a dense, low dust briquette. The beech sawdust comes from a company producing high-end beech products and structures. These Baby Beech are the smaller brother of our bestselling Beech Nestro; made by the same company, they use slightly larger grindings to make a dense, clean short nestro.
Burning characteristics:
Each heat log weighs around 1.5kg, making them ideal for smaller stoves. For the very smallest stoves, they can be broken in half. This is easy to do – break them by sharply tapping two of the heat logs together. They’re very highly compressed, so they produce very little dust and this density helps them burn for a couple of hours. Best of all, they also produce huge amounts of heat with an attractive flame. They expand by about 25% as they burn, so place them across the firebox and just use small amounts until you’re confident with their burning characteristics on your particular stove or fire. Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, TPN, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet for non-restricted access deliveries is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
A good guide is to expect the driver to leave your pallet where your bin goes out for collection.
If TPN are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities. Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes. Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. What are Beech Nestro heat logs made from?
Beech Nestro is made from pure beech grindings. The sawdust comes from a German company that produces high-quality beech buildings and flooring.
Nothing artificial is added. The heat logs contain no chemicals or binders and are held together by compression alone.
What are they like to burn?
Beech Nestro gives off plenty of heat with an attractive flame.
Because the sawdust is finely ground and highly compressed, the heat logs are dense, clean to handle and produce very little dust.
Two logs can last for up to four hours, providing consistent heat without the stove needing constant attention. Burn time will vary depending on your appliance, chimney or flue, and airflow settings.
Which stoves are Beech Nestro suitable for?
Beech Nestro can be used in stoves and open fires of all sizes.
Their size and weight make them particularly useful in larger stoves. For most smaller appliances, break each heat log in half before putting it on the fire.
Half a Beech Nestro can provide plenty of heat for around one to two hours in a 5kW stove, although results will vary between appliances.

Should I break Beech Nestro before burning?
We recommend breaking the heat logs in half for most stoves.
Beech Nestro expands slightly while burning, so it’s important to leave enough room between the fuel and the stove glass. For a very small stove, divide the logs into smaller pieces.

Can I use Beech Nestro on an open fire?

Depending on the size of your fire, use a whole heat log or break it into more manageable pieces before burning.
Beech Nestro expands slightly, so place the fuel well back from the front of the fire and leave enough room for it to expand safely. Add the logs gradually, don’t overload the grate and always use a suitable fireguard.
Can I burn Beech Nestro with other fuels?
Yes. Beech Nestro can be used alone as your main fuel or combined with other briquettes and logs.
It works particularly well alongside a quicker-lighting fuel. Use the faster-burning fuel to establish the fire, then add Beech Nestro for longer, steadier heat.
Only burn fuels approved by the manufacturer of your appliance.
Are Beech Nestro heat logs easy to light?
Their density means Beech Nestro can take a little more effort to light from cold.
The easiest approach is to establish the fire with a natural firelighter and kindling, then place the Beech Nestro on top once the fire is burning properly.
You can also split a heat log into thinner pieces, which will catch more readily.
Are Beech Nestro Ready to Burn certified?
Yes. Beech Nestro is Ready to Burn certified and produced from PEFC woodland.
Ready to Burn certification provides reassurance that the fuel is sufficiently dry and has been checked to ensure it is made from pure wood without artificial additives or binders.

Can I use Beech Nestro in a Smoke Control Area?
If you live in a Smoke Control Area, wood fuel must be burned in a DEFRA-approved appliance.
Ready to Burn certification relates to the fuel’s moisture content and quality. It does not mean the fuel can be burned in any appliance within a Smoke Control Area.
Always check the instructions for your appliance and the rules that apply in your area.

How should Beech Nestro be stored?
Beech Nestro must be kept completely dry.
A dry garage, watertight shed, porch, conservatory or dry outbuilding is suitable. The packs can also be kept inside your home or in a watertight plastic garden store.
Don’t keep them in a traditional open-sided log store, an uncovered outdoor area or a damp building. The heat logs are already very dry and readily absorb moisture. If they become damp, they’ll begin to swell and can eventually turn back into sawdust.
Is the packaging waterproof?
No. The plastic wrapping around each pack is mainly there to hold the heat logs together. It may have small gaps and shouldn’t be treated as waterproof.
The complete pallet is also plastic wrapped for protection during transport. This provides some temporary protection from poor weather during delivery, but it isn’t suitable for outdoor storage.
Please make sure you can move the packs under cover when they arrive. Check with your local authority to find out whether the plastic packaging can be recycled in your area.
Is delivery included?
Delivery to most UK mainland postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown.
Some mainland and offshore addresses carry an additional surcharge. Enter your postcode using our postcode checker to confirm the delivery charge for your address.

Pallet orders are delivered by our pallet courier, Palletline, rather than by one of our own vehicles. Pallet delivery normally takes three to five working days for most areas, and someone must be there to receive it.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Delivery is made at the kerbside using a tail-lift vehicle and pallet truck.
The pallet footprint is normally approximately 1.2m × 1m. The driver needs a firm, flat and level surface on which to unload. A pallet truck can’t move safely over gravel, grass, slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Deliveries are normally made on an 18-tonne lorry. As a rough guide, if a bin lorry can reach your property, an 18-tonne delivery vehicle should be able to as well. The driver will make the final decision about whether it is safe to enter your road.
The pallet will normally be left at the kerbside or where your bins are placed for collection.
What if access to my property is restricted?
If you need a smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg.
A quarter, half or three-quarter pallet of Beech Nestro can be carried on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. A full pallet weighs approximately 960kg and requires suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request. If you need one, select the Access Restrictions option at checkout and add a note asking for a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Beech Nestro are made in Germany from pure beech grindings, which produce a dense, low dust briquette. The beech sawdust comes from a company producing high-end beech products and structures. These Beech Nestro are quite simply the best briquette we have ever found – probably the best briquette in the world.
Burning characteristics:
Each chunky log weighs around 2.5kg, so they’re great for bigger stoves. For smaller stoves, just break them into half before using. This is easy to do, – break them by sharply tapping two of the heat logs together. They’re very highly compressed, so they produce almost no dust and this density helps them burn for several hours. Best of all, they also produce huge amounts of heat with an attractive flame. They expand by about 25% as they burn, so place them across the firebox and just use small amounts until you’re confident with their burning characteristics on your particular stove or fire. Two will last up to four hours with excellent heat and flame characteristics. They generate a consistent heat so you don’t have to be up and down loading the stove or adjusting the air flow.

None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Due to industry regulation changes, if you require a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle the maximum pallet weight you can order is 720kgs. If you are unsure what vehicle size you need please phone us on 01387 731 210 to discuss your requirements.
Pallet Orders are delivered by our partner couriers, TPN, not our own drivers.
Your goods are delivered on a pallet, the footprint of which is usually approximately 1.2m x 1m. The height of the pallet depends on the products you’ve ordered but may be up to two metres high.
The maximum weight of a pallet for non-restricted access deliveries is 980kg.
Our pallet courier will normally deliver your order on an 18 tonne lorry with a tail lift. This means the kerbside of your property must be accessible to a large vehicle. If a bin lorry can access the road then an 18 tonne lorry should be able to as well but it will be up to the driver to determine this.
A good guide is to expect the driver to leave your pallet where your bin goes out for collection.
If TPN are unable to deliver to the kerbside of your property, for example because of access restrictions which mean a 7.5t vehicle will not be able to get to the property’s kerbside, we will need to put special delivery arrangements in place. These arrangements may incur additional charges, for which you, the customer, are responsible. If you think you may need alternative arrangements please let us know prior to ordering so we can get a quote for you.

Express Packs:
Wood Fuel express pack orders are sent with APC, who offer a Next Working Day service to most of the UK. Some areas are on a 2-5 day service, so if you need your order urgently please check with us first.
We do not guarantee Next Working Day delivery, although we will always dispatch your order as quickly as possible to ensure it has the best chance of arriving when you need it. Orders placed after 12pm will generally be dispatched the next day, or on Monday if placed after 12pm on a Friday.

Packaging
These briquettes come in plastic wrapped packs. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities. Each pack is plastic wrapped but not always fully sealed. They are not in waterproof packaging. There will often be gaps in the wrap, due to the wrapping process. The wrap is only there to hold the packs together, rather than to weatherproof them. Please take this into account when deciding where to store your briquettes. Pallets will arrive wrapped in plastic to protect them during their journey. This plastic will temporarily protect them from inclement weather but is not suitable for outside storage. Please ensure you are able to cover/protect the pallet if you are not able to put it under cover immediately.This product has multiple variants.
