Premium House Coal Trebles 25kg
Premium House Coal Trebles are a higher-grade traditional coal with larger pieces that provide very high heat and a long, natural flame. They are supplied in 25kg bags and are particularly well suited to open fires.
This product is available for delivery in Scotland and Wales only. It is not available for delivery to addresses in England.
Premium House Coal Trebles are not smokeless and must not be burned in a Smoke Control Area.
What are House Coal Trebles?
“Trebles” refers to the larger size of the coal pieces.
Their greater size means they generally burn more slowly and for longer than House Coal Doubles, although they can take a little more effort to get going.
Once alight, they produce strong heat with the lively flame associated with a traditional coal fire.
What are they like to burn?
Premium House Coal Trebles produce very high heat with a long burn and an attractive, natural flame.
The larger pieces are a good choice when you want to keep an established fire burning steadily without having to add fuel as frequently.
Actual heat output and burning time will depend on your fire, chimney or flue, airflow and the amount of coal used.
Where can I use House Coal Trebles?
House Coal Trebles are best suited to open fires. They may also be suitable for appliances specifically designed to burn traditional house coal.
Always check the fuel guidance supplied by the appliance manufacturer. Do not use them in an appliance designed only for wood or smokeless fuel.
What is the difference between Doubles and Trebles?
House Coal Trebles contain larger pieces than House Coal Doubles.
Doubles are generally quicker to light, while Trebles tend to burn more slowly and last longer. Trebles are therefore a good option for a larger open fire or when you want a longer-lasting burn.
Can they be used in a Smoke Control Area?
No. Premium House Coal Trebles are not smokeless and must not be burned in a Smoke Control Area.
If you live in a Smoke Control Area, choose an approved smokeless fuel that is suitable for your appliance.

How should House Coal Trebles be stored?
Store the bags in a dry, covered place such as a shed, garage or coal bunker.
Coal is less vulnerable to moisture than wood fuel, but keeping it covered helps prevent wet bags, mess and problems caused by the pieces freezing together during cold weather.
What quantities can I order?
Premium House Coal Trebles are supplied in 25kg bags and are available in the following quantities:
- Mix Your Own Pallet: 1 × 25kg bag
- Quarter pallet: 10 × 25kg bags – 250kg
- Half pallet: 20 × 25kg bags – 500kg
- Three-quarter pallet: 30 × 25kg bags – 750kg
- Full pallet: 40 × 25kg bags – 1,000kg
Is delivery included?
Delivery to most eligible mainland Scotland and Wales postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown.
Some addresses carry an additional surcharge. Enter your postcode using our postcode checker to confirm the delivery charge for your address.
Pallet orders are delivered by Palletline. Standard delivery normally takes 2–3 working days from dispatch, although dispatch may take a little longer during busy periods. Someone must be present to receive the order.
How will my pallet be delivered?
Delivery is made at the kerbside using a tail-lift vehicle and manual pallet truck.
The delivery point must have a firm, flat and level surface. Pallets cannot be moved safely over gravel, grass, steep slopes, steps or uneven ground.
Deliveries are normally made on an 18-tonne vehicle. As a rough guide, if a bin lorry can reach your property, an 18-tonne delivery vehicle should normally be able to reach it too. The driver will make the final decision about whether access is safe.
The pallet will normally be left at the kerbside or where your bins are placed for collection.
What if access to my property is restricted?
A smaller 7.5-tonne vehicle can carry no more than 720kg. It may therefore be requested for a quarter or half pallet of House Coal Trebles.
The three-quarter pallet weighs 750kg and the full pallet weighs 1,000kg. Neither can be delivered on a 7.5-tonne vehicle, so both require suitable access for an 18-tonne delivery vehicle.
If you require the smaller vehicle, select the access-restrictions option at checkout and add your request to the order notes. A 7.5-tonne vehicle is the smallest delivery vehicle we can request.
