We're in the process of putting together a trial pack, a mix of the different types of wood briquettes and wax firelighters, plus very detailed instructions on how to light your stove or fire and get the most out of it by mixing the wood fuel. Of course you can mix the briquettes with logs too, to achieve the perfect heat for your space...and for the weather, which plays a big part in woodstove success. These still, flat conditions we have just now make lighting and much more difficult, as the stove (or fire) is reluctant to draw. I've discovered that for the little stove, 2 of the paper briquettes, a Waxling firelighter and a sawdust briquette on top, plus fully opening the air intake, has worked just fine.
Wow - wood fuel burning is a fasinating science!
