Oak Nestro are made from:
Oak Nestro is a great value briquette, made from hardwood sawdust.
Oak Nestro are more of a long-burn briquette. They need something like Hotmax or Pini-kay to build a good hot base before placing one (or preferably just half of one) on top. This will produce a good flame and extend the life of the fire. In my 5kw stove I can turn the airflow down at night and still have a warm stove the next morning.
Oak Nestro expand lengthways as they burn, so remember to place them across the firebox, in order to prevent them touching the glass door or falling onto the hearth. We recommend breaking them into half or smaller, as this makes them easier to control as they burn.
The main fuel for a day or evening burn. We don’t use them as a starter fuel as there are much better kindling alternatives such as Hotmax. Used in conjunction with Hotmax, Pini-kay or Blazers, they extend the life of your fire at a very economic price.
None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

The briquetting industry uses plastic to wrap wood briquettes in order to ensure they stay dry, as damp briquettes break up and are unsuitable for burning. The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we are constantly working with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by using cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.
