Description

WillowWarm Briquettes

WillowWarm briquettes are made in Ireland from coppiced willow, compressed into short, dense blocks. They give good heat and an attractive flame, and their size makes them a handy choice for small and medium-sized stoves. They can also be used on an open fire.

WillowWarm expands by about 30% of its length as it burns. Leave room in your stove, keeping the ends clear of the glass. On an open fire, place the briquettes well back from the front and use a suitable fireguard.

Quick facts

  • Pack: 10 briquettes, 8.5kg
  • Size: 160mm long × 75mm wide
  • Energy value: 4.8kWh/kg
  • Active burn time: Up to 1½ hours

  • Ash content: Less than 3%
  • Made from: Irish-grown coppiced willow, with no added binders

Using WillowWarm

The short briquettes fit into many smaller fireboxes without needing to be broken. Their rounded-square shape helps them stay in place on the fire. Add them gradually, allow room for expansion and follow your appliance manufacturer’s instructions. Burn time will vary with your stove and airflow settings.

Willow is grown as a coppice crop, which can be harvested repeatedly once established. The wood is then compressed into briquettes.

Storage and delivery

Keep WillowWarm completely dry. The plastic wrapping protects the packs during handling and delivery, but it isn’t waterproof or suitable for outdoor storage.

Delivery to most mainland UK postcodes is included in the pallet prices shown. Some addresses have an additional charge, which you can check on our pallet delivery information page.

Palletways deliver pallets kerbside and needs a firm, level surface for unloading. If you need a 7.5-tonne vehicle, your order must weigh no more than 720kg. WillowWarm’s three-quarter and full pallets exceed that limit and need suitable access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
