Description:
Lewis Value RUF briquettes are a good general purpose briquette. Made in Nova Scotia, Canada from slow growing Eastern White Pine sawdust, these are great value.
Because they’re square, RUF blocks don’t roll in the hearth, so they’re easy and safe to use in an open fire.
Burning characteristics:
Giving out a steady heat with a nice flame, these are really easy-to-use-briquettes. They burn for around two to three hours depending on airflow and give off good heat for the duration of their burn time.
Perfect for:
Lewis Value RUF are best used as a ‘heat sink’ in the back of the fire, where they will glow for a couple of hours and help create a really good heart in your fire. Having said that though, many people use Lewis Value RUF as a sole fuel throughout the burn. They are a handy size so they’re excellent on a smaller stove or open fire, but they’re still chunky enough to give a really good burn time.
Our briquettes are all additive-free. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Lewis Value RUF come in a plastic pack. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.
Plastic is widely used for wrapping briquettes, in order to ensure that they stay dry, as a damp briquette will break up and be unsuitable for burning. The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we work constantly with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by encouraging the use of cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.
