UK Hard

Made from:

UK Hard are a cylindrical, densely packed briquette made from a mixture of hardwoods. They’re made in England using sawdust produced from the manufacture of hardwood moldings. Each 10kg pack is made up from two smaller 5kg packs, each containing four briquettes, making them very easy to handle, stack and store.

None of our briquettes contain additives or chemicals. They are made from pure, untreated wood by-product and are held together by compression alone.

Burning characteristics:

They are easy to light and quick to reach a high operating temperature, which enables your stove to work at maximum efficiency. They burn with a lively flame to start with, then turn red hot and provide a good steady heat for a couple of hours. UK Hard will expand lengthways as they burn, so place them across your fire rather than pointing towards the hearth, or break them up to use on smaller stoves.

Perfect for:

Break them up into smaller pieces and place them around one Waxling lighter for a quick and easy way to light the fire, or use whole as a main fuel.

UK Hard briquettes come in a shrink-wrapped pack, which is widely recyclable. They have plastic banding around them. Please check with your local authority for recycling facilities.

The briquetting industry uses plastic to wrap wood briquettes in order to ensure they stay dry, as damp briquettes break up and are unsuitable for burning. The environmental impact of our products is important to us, so we are constantly working with our suppliers to improve the sustainability of their packaging by using cardboard in place of plastic wherever possible.
