Bark briquettes rock! Last night was the coldest for a while and I tried out what looks like a big black pudding: one of the SWF bark briquettes! It’s also been likened to an elephant poo but we won’t go there.
My studio has a very small but ultra-efficient wood stove. It’s a Windy Smithy and was designed to be leak-proof and hence safe for smaller spaces. It draws well…giving out a healthy roar when there’s a bit of wind, but it copes with still conditions too and can also be closed right down to burn slowly. Half a Black Pudding (they’re easy to break) took up about half the fire box space and soon it had expanded to fill most of it. It smelt great from outside but produced very little smoke and produced a steady warmth right through the night. Amazing!
